Due to increasing concerns around the spread of the coronavirus and our responsibility to ensure the health and safety of our members and staff, the Association’s leadership has decided to cancel the in-person Program Directors 101 Workshop that was scheduled to be held in Alexandria, Virginia, on June 23–27.
Instead, Program Directors 101 will be transitioned to a blended learning experience, combining virtual content with an in-person event during the Fall Workshops at the 2020 PAEA Education Forum. More information about the curriculum and registration will be available in the coming months.
We considered several factors in reaching this decision — including CDC guidance, recently announced states of emergency, institutional guidance, recommendations regarding social distancing and domestic travel, and input from our volunteer leaders. With our responsibility to our members, students, and staff and our vision of “Health for All” guiding us, we determined that cancelling travel to the event was the most responsible choice.
