SAMHSA Grants for MAT Training Awarded to Five PA Programs

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration recently announced the recipients of their 2018 Provider’s Clinical Support System (PCSS) – Universities grants. The purpose of these three-year grants is to increase access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT) by expanding the availability of MAT waiver training in medical, PA, and nurse practitioner programs.

Among the 28 successful applicants are several institutions that sponsor PA education programs:

  • University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center
  • Seton Hall University
  • MGH Institute of Health Professions
  • Yale University
  • Central Michigan University

PA students from each university will be participating in the waiver training offered under these programs. This, along with PAEA’s MAT Waiver Training Initiative, will further our vision of achieving universal waiver eligibility among PA program faculty and graduates.

Congratulations to these PCSS-Universities grant awardees!
