James F. Cawley, MPH, PA-C, has been named visiting professor and scholar-in-residence in the PA Leadership and Learning Academy (PALLA) in the Graduate School at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. PALLA is dedicated to the development of future PA faculty and professional educational leaders. In this new role, he will mentor research staff and PALLA program fellows.

Cawley, a professor at the School of Physician Assistant Practice in the College of Medicine at Florida State University (FSU), will remain in his teaching and research positions at FSU while serving as a PALLA visiting professor.

Ronald Garcia, PhD, retired last month from his position as assistant dean for minority affairs at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He had been at Stanford for 45 years and served as PAEA president in 1995.

Before serving as assistant dean for minority affairs, Ronald served as an evaluator for the university’s PA program, and then as its associate director, director of admissions, and interim program director.
