How to Be a Successful Scholar: Research and Publishing

Many PA faculty are interested in becoming researchers, but don’t know where to start. This workshop is geared toward early career researchers or those seeking to enter the research world for the first time. The workshop is structured according to the typical arc of a research and publishing process, beginning with how to conceive research and write strong, testable research questions and wrapping up with an interactive review of a manuscript.

Along the way, we’ll discuss:

  • Planning a research project according to publishing and research design standards
  • Implementing your research project (highlighting pitfalls and benefits of different approaches)
  • Analyzing your data and making sense of results
  • Constructing abstracts and posters to disseminate results

Following the workshop, an online learning management system will be available to provide longitudinal support for participants. Note: this workshop is geared toward helping faculty develop workforce, health services, and education research. It is not for those seeking to develop clinical manuscript work or clinical trials/clinical research.
CME Credits: Coming soon.
