Your Chance to Represent PAs at the Federal Level – CLOSED

September 7, 2016

The Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD) is accepting nominations for candidates, and PAEA is looking for a few good PAs to send their way.

ACTPCMD is a federal committee that provides recommendations concerning policy, program development, and other matters of significance concerning the HRSA Bureau of Health Workforce. The Committee, which consists of 17 members who are appointed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, produces annual reports to the Secretary and Congress.

In an effort to ensure PA representation on this crucial advisory body, PAEA would like to encourage nominations for this interdisciplinary advisory committee. The advisory committee makes assessments and recommendations on the future of health care workforce training —and the PA perspective is critical to these important discussions. Nominations will be considered as vacancies on the advisory committee occur.

Individuals are invited to self-nominate or PAEA can nominate and support candidates as well. To submit a nomination, you must include the following materials:

  • A letter of nomination from an employer, a colleague, or a professional organization stating the name, affiliation, and contact information for the nominee, the basis for the nomination (i.e., what specific attributes, perspectives, and/or skills the individual possesses that would benefit the workings of ACTPCMD), and the nominee’s field(s) of expertise
  • A letter of self-interest stating the reasons the nominee would like to serve on ACTPCMD
  • A biographical sketch of the nominee and a copy of his/her curriculum vitae
  • The name, address, daytime telephone number, and email address at which the nominator can be contacted

To learn more about ACTPCMD, please visit the HRSA website. For more details on the nomination process, please see the federal register notice.

If you have any questions or would like to be considered for nomination, please contact Kendall Mealy, PAEA’s manager of government relations and advocacy, at kmealy@paeaonline.org.
